About 20 mapping to discover throughout the city!

Monument video mapping on symbolic buildings, immersive mapping on interior architectures, mapping on objects and plants, video game mapping...
During one evening, the Video Mapping Festival offers to rediscover the various forms of video mapping through an exclusive video mapping tour:
Palais des Beaux-Arts, Rue de l’Hôpital Militaire, Crédit Mutuel Nord Europe (regional headquarters), Palais Rihour (Salle du Conclave), Grand’Place (Goddess Column), Vieille Bourse (inner courtyard), Lille Opera House, Lille Flandres Train Station, Avenue Charles Saint-Venant, Rue Saint-Sauveur and Square Augustin Laurent, City Hall (Hallway), Pavillon Saint-Sauveur, Rue du Réduit, Porte de Paris (bridge), Hermitage Gantois, Back of the Palais des Beaux-Arts (Eugène Dodeigne’s sculptures)
A 3.5-km loop to walk at your own pace!

The creations exhibited on this occasion mostly have been created during:

• Artistic residencies
In November 2018, Rencontres Audiovisuelles welcomed around 25 artists in Arenberg Creative Mine, during a creation residency bringing together video mapping, animation and digital artists, researchers etc. in order to produce the original works that will be presented during the Opening night.
The artists have then worked remotely while receiving an artistic and technical support.

• Workshops
From Saturday 23rd to Wednesday 27th of March, around 60 students from European animation and video game schools will participate in creative challenges: produce together, in 4 days, creations that will be presented during the Opening night, on Friday 29th of March (mapping on the front facade of the Opera House of Lille and mapping on the Eugène Dodeigne’s sculptures at the back of the Palais des Beaux-Arts).
Discover also a micro mapping created by 15 students during a workshop led between October and March as part of the Research and Creation Workshops of the École Supérieure d’Art & de Communication of Cambrai. This projection (rue de l’Hôpital Militaire) is entirely generated in real-time by computer code.

• Educational workshops
From January to March, workshops are taking place in several organisations of the conurbation of Lille: children or teenagers can begin to learn about video mapping and produce within a few days works that will be presented during the Festival. Come and discover their work in the Hallway of the City Hall and on the Pavillon Saint-Sauveur!

All the creations will be screened on a loop from 8:30 pm to 1 am.

For security reasons, backpacks or suitcases cannot and will not be accepted in certain locations of the Festival, and there will be no cloakrooms. It is thus recommended that you do not come to the Festival with bigger personal bags than small backpacks or handbags.

Caution: for some indoor locations the number of people we can let in is limited, a waiting line is thus possible.
